One night stand - advice needed

Ok, long story short,

A few weeks ago I met a woman at a club, we got on, the we retired to mines and got it on. The following morning there was much nuzzling and talking, I liked her and she seemed to like me, we repeated the previous night's performance, went out for breakfast and came back to my flat.

After more snoozing she left, I wanted to ask for her number, but didn't want to make a dick of myself as she already had age issues (she older than I).

Later that day, I noticed she had left her necklace on my desk.

My quandry - Do I call all the folks with her inital and full second name in the phone book for the region trying to track her down PURELY for the purpose of returning her stuff.

Or is that too easily misenterpreted as "stalkery".

Serious inexperience in this area so this is a genuine request for advice.

Thanks.

um, don't do the phonebook thing. If she wants it badly she'll probably come back to yours for it. my pennys worth anyway.

If you run into her again at the same club, you have a reason to spark up some conversation that could lead to an exchange of contact info. After all, you have some of her property. I'd go more that route than trying to track her down through the phone book.

Chhers guys, thing is I'm not really looking for contact now, I just want to do the right thing by the girl,

I mean, it doesnt look like an expensive chain, but it may have a lot of emotional value, also, she only knows my name and has said she couldn't find my place hence the " went out for breakfast and came back to my flat. " thing, 'cos i really was in no state to, she wasn't familiar with this area of town.
I thank you and wish you good vibes. It's all I can do.

And I have had a few wiihteld numbers 1471's recently.

You know, it does at least partly depend on how many people with her name there are in the book. And whether you have a vague idea where she lives.

Couple of dozen.

Given my naturally shy/chivarlic nature I'll take the hit for doing the right thing, on my way to the club now, in the vain hope she'll be there and I can return her properety and bail posthaste galahadlike, or should it be gawainlike??.

Have you tried email Duncan? There are loads of sites that let you search for mail addresses - you just need to have an idea of the name and area. Try 192.com.
If you are students at the same univeristy it is always dead easy because you can just look up the internal directory. Other than that I wouldn't worry about it. I have a total random collection of lost and found - watches, bangles, belly button rings, underwear...it just happens. Don't sweat it.

Definitely do not make excessive efforts to track her down. That does look stalkery. "Hey, you left your bracelet behind, I've tracked you down to give it back! Will you marry me?"

If you see her again, then sure, mention it, but otherwise, like Buk says, don't sweat it. Leaving things at people's houses is natural possession-osmosis. It keeps the contents of our dwelling-places varied and interesting.

Natural possession-osmosis. I like that someone has put a phrase to that...

Er, yeah, what the others said. Don't chase her down, keep the chain on you perhaps so if you see her you can return it, but nothing else. Like has been said, if it means that much to her, she'll find you.

possesion-osmosis! excellent.

i used to throw quite a lot of parties and have some pretty odd things left in my house.

- a collection of identicle but differently sized knives
- a vintage sports bag packed with real ale in my airing cupboard
- many pairs of tights knickers, socks,
- literally hundreds of hair clips and bracelets
- a large lump of skunk
- a cornish pasty
- a bowler hat
- a frog. in my microwave....

etc...
