Watched the pilot the other night, and while I liked the overall cinematic look and the way certain shots were set up, it struck me as a Twin Peaks rip-off. That and the fact that they tried to hook people with the promise of a million dollars for "solving the mystery" (if its a a good show you don't need to bribe people, but what do I know?).
All style and marketing ploy, no substance.
Good cinematography and use of vintage cars kept me watching. Oh and what's-his-name from the Coen Brothers films. The fact that his character dies in the pilot is telling (as far as I can see, he's the only one in the show who can act). |
