Help with a troubling dream

got a query: last year my brother was shot and killed by the LAPD. about 10 days ago, I had this dream in which either me, or someone else in the dream yelled BEAU! in the same manner you'd yell " MIKE! answer the goddamn phone!" if you were at someone's house and he was ignoring an annoying phone.
anyway, i woke up after the yell of BEAU!
about 3 days later... I hear ringing, telephone-wise... I mentally go ..." it's 10 am here, it's like 7 am in california (where beau lived, i am in atlanta)... i wonder where beau is calling from, as he's not got a phone. wait, beau can't call me, he's DEAD."
It was very very horrid to realize that when i was still sleeping and vaunerable. my theory on it is that my logical left-brain said ' hey, this can't be contact from him' ... boy does that suck.
anyway... not to be too maudlin, but does anyone know how i can try to open myself up to 'contact' or whatnot? it's been a real concern of mine that i hope he had a sense of peace when he went.

any advise would be sincerly appreciated.
if you'd like, you can contact me at grendix@yahoo.com

Before you go to sleep, pray/meditate/ask for some contact in your dreams. I don't know much about this, but I wanted to reply to your message and offer an idea and some support. I hope you find what you are seeking -- peace to you. Sending you good vibes now....

HunterWolf just made me remember. Back in time, when I was going to sleep, I used to sort of send "telepathic" messages amidst my random self-chat thoughts, with no particular effort of concentration or praying, but, at least I would make clear the start and the end of the message, composing the "text" a little bit before, and then formulating it sort of telegraphically, so it sounded in my mind while lying in the bed like this:

"This is a telepathic message to [xxx]. I would like to know about [yyy], please meet me in dreams tonight, I repeat: tonight, to tell me about [yyy], or otherwise send me straight to a dream about [yyy]. This is the end of the message."

and then back to the routinary pre-sleep bla-bla-bla until I got to zzz-zzz-zzz. Sometimes I would add before sending it "Please go to silence in all channels, important message is about to be sent, please go to silence", in order to stop the inner chat that precedes sleep.

Pretty basic stuff, but I rememeber my dream pattern changed quite impressively the nights I did it, especially the night I sent a message to "all entities that have worked by my side and had been mutually enriched by doing so", and that's what HunterWolf made me remember. I guess a study could be developed from this, like those books by Patricia Garfield, if you carefully study and record your dreams, but that wasn't my job at the time, and I don't run a dream diary. Try it if it suits you.

Cool thoughts, Seb -- so, Grendix, any results on this? I've had some interesting dream experiences lately with my subconscious giving me messages - important to keep that diary open to a blank page with a pen right next to it so you can write them down immediately when they're fresh upon waking.
