Same old. Rules in the abstract. First vote comes in from Mazarine, copied over from the old thread:

I'm down for a third week, and I'd like it to be Haus. My question: Indulge my gullible self- do you actually have Mad hax0r skillz, or was that in jest?

Seth
23:00 / 16.09.02
Manners, Haus. Wait 'til you're elected.

Seth
23:02 / 16.09.02
Is anyone else getting this fucked-up psychedelic thread mojo? The kitchen just swallowed Tom whole!

ONLY NICE THINGS
23:02 / 16.09.02
Ooops, sorry - lost track of time. I thought we were on week three. Is my face red?

ONLY NICE THINGS
23:03 / 16.09.02
The margins are taking over. Flee!

Jack The Bodiless
23:09 / 16.09.02
I also nominate Tann. He must answer to the board for his pre-eminence.

I'm going to do him left-handed. Is the only way I can be satisfied. If I use the right - is over too quickly.

Mazarine
00:08 / 17.09.02
"My name is Jack the Bodiless. You kill my _______. Prepare to die."
Okay, sorry threadrot, but I really want Jack to fill in the blank. In week four of the barbeinterview if necessary.

Seth
09:17 / 17.09.02
Why wait 'til Week 4? Week 3 is still up for grabs.

What is this ennui that's gripped the interview voting process? The first person votes and everyone follows suit, thinking that it's already a landslide. Is this how Thatcher came to power?

STOATIE LIEKS CHOCOLATE MILK
09:20 / 17.09.02
I'd vote Haus. Or, if that would just make me an undemocratic sheep, I'd vote Ganesh for the reason I gave in week 1.

Goodness Gracious Meme
10:00 / 17.09.02
People I want to interview: Haus, 'nesh, disco, mordant.

Actually, yeah, I vote Mordant, as it's probably an interesting time to be asking hir nosy questions.

_pin
10:04 / 17.09.02
My vote goes forthe real, flesy, prodable little mouse in the head of Haus pulling all the levers and eating cheese all day. We have an interview for Haus already- it's called "Barbelith".

Because there's an undeniable difference between the two.

Saveloy
10:14 / 17.09.02
I vote exp. If my nomination gets picked, I'd like to ask "What happened to that barbebreaks CD then, eh? Eh?!" Oh, okay, I vote Mordant. If my nomination gets picked, I'd like to ask "what are you going to do in Cork?" It's a boring question, but life can't all be fun.

ONLY NICE THINGS
10:44 / 17.09.02
Ye gods, this is anarchy! It's going to be like that thing on pre-Going Live childrens Saturday morning television when Matt Bianco had performed their hit song and were taking calls from the kiddies, and some black-hearted child phoned up and shouted that they were all wankers...

Except, you know, not one of the finest moments in the history of the world ever.

The Apple-Picker
10:59 / 17.09.02
My vote is still for Haus. My question is still not formulated.

The Apple-Picker
11:04 / 17.09.02
I know just who I want for week 4, too.

*drums fingers together in manner of villain*
*arches right eyebrow*

Eloi Tsabaoth
17:30 / 17.09.02
Haus.
My question would be 'Where do you get your ideas?'

No star here laces
18:32 / 17.09.02
Well I vote for Saveloy, for any number of reasons that should be clear to all. His posts are a delight whatever the context.

My questions are:

If I told you you were consistently surprising, would you cease to be so, and why?

Give a convoluted psychoanalytic explanation for your fascination with redundant technology and the accompanying educational literature.

If the Queen came round for dinner, how would you keep her jaded royal mind entertained?

Seth
21:44 / 17.09.02
From the abstract: - We'll limit it to one nomination per person, but you can ask as many questions as you like.

You daft fuckers.

Tryphena Absent
22:29 / 17.09.02
Question for anyone who's interviewed:

If you had to nominate one book you love above all others could you do it?

What book is it? Why did you choose it?

rizla mission
13:48 / 18.09.02
I think I'll vote for Saveloy too, and ask lot's of utterly open, vague questions like;

who?

what?

how?

where?

which he can answer in any way he sees fit.

Sax
14:01 / 18.09.02
If it's Haus, then my questions are:

1 - Someone once told me privately that "Haus is so posh he makes my teeth hurt". But they meant it nicely, I know that for a fact. The question is, just how posh are you, exactly?

2 - When was the last time, if ever, you had an involuntary kneejerk racist/sexist/homophobic thought, and how did you punish yourself?

3 - How many members of Barbelith would you say you "hated"?

4 - You are trapped in a lift with Jim Davidson. How would the conversation go?

5 - When you were a callow youth, did you ever masturbate to a picture of a comic-book superheroine? If so, who was she? If you don't want to identify her, just say which company the comic was published by.

pointless and uncalled for
18:17 / 18.09.02
IMHO Haus should be held up for trial by the Barbelith Spanish Inquisition.

Should he feel confident that he will be able to ensure a self-glorifying acquital then my question to him would be:

You have on previous occasion edited a post to say that

pointless and uncalled for
18:20 / 18.09.02
IMHO Haus should be held up for trial by the Barbelith Spanish Inquisition.

Should he feel confident that he will be able to ensure a self-glorifying acquital then my question to him would be:

You have, on previous occasion, edited a post to say something to the effect that autobiography is a weakness. What is your reasoning behind this and how does this affect your opinion of those that use it to either justify or explain a stance, theory or dogma?

Mazarine
18:32 / 18.09.02
I've got another question for Haus: What, if anything, did you learn from the "Burning Down the Haus" thread you started way back when?

some guy
19:34 / 18.09.02
I vote Haus. Questions:

What is your demographic information (race/gender/class/age/education/career)?

How does your background impact your worldview?

What was your educational focus at school?

How do you think other posters see you? Does it matter?

If you could change one thing about the world, what would it be?

Do you find irony in arguing for greater political sensitivity while often berating or criticizing Barbelith posters?

What do you see as the greatest weakness of the political left and the greatest strength of the political right, and vice versa?

Wrecks City-Zen
23:09 / 18.09.02
Haus...all the way.

1) Is it true that you are really Ganesh?

2) Do you think I'm sexy?

3)No really,are you Ganesh?

4)Have you ever paid for sex?

Regrettable Juvenilia
10:34 / 19.09.02
Haus gets all the best questions, the bastard. I nominate him also, in that case, and will resist the urge to ask truly evil questions. Instead, my first question is simply:

What is it about Ultra Magnus?

Goodness Gracious Meme
11:10 / 19.09.02
okay, if it's going to be Haus:

Who do you think you are?

Billy Corgan
18:43 / 19.09.02
Haus, do you like the Smashing Pumpkins?

More importantly, do you like me?

Our Lady of The Two Towers
16:44 / 20.09.02
For Haus. How different is Haus to you IRL? How much is that difference (if you perceive there to be one) intentional?

Has there been crossover of traits between you and Haus since you started on here?

AND

How much of what you say is bullshit and/or just because you know it'll annoy people, and how much is stuff that you actually believe?

Possible bonus question; If Optimus Prime spent three million years deactivated in a mountain in America with the Creation Matrix in his gut, does the fact that there are still Transformers alive on Cybertron all these years later to fight a war make that race the most inept fighters in the universe?

Jack The Bodiless
18:04 / 20.09.02
Cool. It appears to be Tannhauser, then.

My question(s): 'The character 'Haus' is probably the most controversial non-troll regular poster on Barbelith. A contribution from the Haus can alter the direction of a thread, regardless of thread context, because of the perceived history of the character, and the perceived and actual tone of the character.' What do you think about the above statement? Are you aware of the good/bad influence the Haus can have on a discussion regardless of what ze says? If so, how do you feel about it, and does it affect what you choose to post? Are you fed up with potentially being perceived as an arch agent provocateur outside of the Head Shop?

Oh, and: If you're Barbelith's 'Avon', who do you consider to be Barbelith's 'Blake'? Which is a much better question, and good for barbegossip...

ONLY NICE THINGS
18:44 / 20.09.02
So, when does the week when I answer all these things start? I'm afraid I've been remiss...

Sax
18:46 / 20.09.02
Well, if you aren't watching "My Family" right now or are about to depart for the Frog and Spanner, why not get it underway?

Matthew Fluxington
18:47 / 20.09.02
A few fluffy questions:

What's a typical day-in-the-life for you? This assumes that you have some kind of routine in your life...

What were the last three good movies you saw in a theatre?

What music have you been enjoying lately?

Are you a good dancer? If we had a party, what song would the DJ want to play if he wanted to get you out on the floor?

Matthew Fluxington
18:48 / 20.09.02
Those questions were for Haus. Here's one more:

How do you usually dress? How would you describe your sartorial style?
