I always think the oddest band names are those you know really well. I mean who would actually call a band Radiohead, Blur, The Stone Roses, Soulwax, Ash... see- their names are rubbish but we forget that because we hear them all the time!

Blur is NOT a bad name for that band. It's a perfect name for them, if you think about how their entire career is based on being stylistic chameleons.

We have way too many band names threads. I'm glad that Mr. Ragnarok'n'roll at least opted to put this over in Conversation....

Pulp is another good name, since they're pop and view their own work as discardable(well, not discardable, but, you know, not *that* serious), as pulp books were in the beginnig of the century.
As for a odd band name, I'll hammer these two down until something gives in:

- Noam Chomsky Would Hate Your Mother
- She Left Me For A Zombie

Dunno 'bout that .. I think their original name "Seymour" would have suited them much better.. it just goes perfectly with their image & music, whereas "Blur" is a bit vague..

I guess it's time for an obligitory link to this thread, which we did only last week, and which has loads and loads of fine band names..
