I think we've already mentioned this before, but it finally made it to terrestrial TV, so let's bring it back up.
SPOILERS.
Her boyfriend deserved to die. Anyone that bellows songs in the middle of a public area deserves a slow and painful death. I hope he suffered.
I especially liked the fact that the various exposition scenes barely hung together. Show the dohickey, ignore the dohickey for the next hour or so while we deal with Sydney and the death of her boyfriend and related nonsense, then have the last fifteen minutes being Syd getting the doohickey. I was lost at several points. So Syd and her Dad are part of an FBI plant within the inner circle within this secret organisation that works within the FBI? And there were strange leaps as well. Syd goes to the FBI, presumerably to tell them about this secret circle within this secret organisation, tells them everything and somehow gets admittance to this secret circle?
What the fuck?
Loved the hair though. Made up for the complete lack of interesting characters and the block of wood they got to play her Dad.
Presumerably though Channel 4 cut a lot out because it was an odd length and NTK had mentioned the strangely explicit torture scene. As it consisted of some Chinese guy waving a bottle of painkillers in her face, I presume it got cut as part of their continuing policy of showing sci-fi at inappropriate times of the day.
Still, at least they didn't make the mistake of Dark Skies and have her leave the organisation and go on the run. That would have been daft. |
