Interesting statistics for anyone who's interested...

Over the last 24 hours there have been 425 posts to Barbelith, with 102 unique users posting one or more messages, meaning that on average each poster is making roughly 4 1/4 posts a day, and that at least one-twelfth of all suits were active... Interesting...

STOATIE LIEKS CHOCOLATE MILK

That seems like a good thing, considering (AFAIK) there's been relatively little spamming and trolling in that period. One-twelfth- do you check this stuff regularly? Is that a higher or lower amount than normal? Or compared to before all the unused suits were burned?

How is this impacting on bandwidth?

(Just to chuck in my couple of quid here, I personally think the board's been in one of its "simultaneously fun/stimulating" modes the last couple of weeks. I'm liking it bigly. Oh, and as regards "chucking in my couple of quid"- I know this is off-topic, but I still think a PO Box for donations would be a good thing.)

More information... There have been 145,000 posts (this includes at least one incarnation of the old-style board), each one of which amounts to (on average) about 0.59K...

That translates to roughly 85.55M of text/code, to keep the statistics rolling on. How many new members are there since the board opened up again? It seems like hundreds. (myself, included)

Has there been a curve/trend increase as the board's been open longer?

It was around 911 members when the board was opened. Not EXACTLY mind you, or I would have posted this in the syncronicity with 9/11 thread.

So about two hundred and eighty four members have joined since.

A PO box is a fantastic idea, I would convert all my coppers for you, that might come to £5. No, that probably sounds sarcastic, I do think it's an idea. I wonder how much they cost... I'll research it.

I'm beginning to think I should help the collective webloggers move more firmly into their own space, to be honest. I don't have the time to spend on making that part of the site work as well as it should, and I think I'm compromising people's style and development as webloggers by not letting them have any access into the code or the design. I'd like to be able to keep them on barbelith in some way, but unfortunately at the moment there are only two security choices - someone either has no access to the server, or they have total access and could overwrite the whole of this forum if they chose to... I'm going to start a new thread about this though (I think). I'll probably keep the collective weblog itself central though, and will try to spend some more time working on it...
