Perhaps...anyone mind if we skip the West End? And the Square Mile? Just sayin'...

Might be up for this if it's get to-able. Hobgoblin? (bit obsessed with decent, cheap beer thoughts...) As long as they don't play any Bruce Springsteen - like the sound of the new album, but I think I've had enough of it for one day.

I think I'll have to pass if it's the deep north...how about the ever-loving Foundry?

Ariadne
11:55 / 11.09.02
That'd be nice, but I'm already boozing elsewhere with some friends from NZ. Not sure where yet, but I'm going to suggest Wales. Everyone loves Wales, right? Noone will bomb Wales. Plus I was there yesterday and it was sunny, so I'm sold on the place.

Err, this is a pointless addition to the thread. Hope you all have fun.

I wish I could join you as I am deeply disturbed by today's commemorations (and also what is being commemorated) and could use a drink, but sadly it's not to be. Please have one for me and send good peaceful vibes my way.

I hate this shit.

I was actually thinking the Martin Chando's as it's very close to where I work.

Anyone ?

?

OK - I won't be able to respond again until 4:30, but, c'mon...

The Foundry would be OK though I guess.

OK must go teach.

I could really do with a drink, willing to travel anywhere except perhaps Wales.

I'd love to join y'all for a drink but after hearing the guy singing at the Pentagon I don't think I can do anything without periods of insane unexplained laughter. Plus I'm even more poor than I was a month ago- my last £5 is about to go on a packet of fags (oh dear!).

Oh, come on, Janina. I missed it - you could sing it to us...

Well if this does happen, I hope we can all stop for a minutes silence for Michael Elphick.

Let us never forget Boon.

High-ho Silver.

Well of course, Silver was from Wolverhampton..

Anyhoo - a pub location anyone?

I'd suggest the foundry, Great Eastern Street, nearest tubes Old Street and Liverpool street (thus, SFD, trainable from you, you just walk north up bishopsgate and turn left) - Cherry suggested the Martin Chando's but I'm afraid I don;t know where it is, and I think the Hobgoblin is perhaps a bit too far north for me, as I am k-n-a-c-k-e-r-e-d (will probably be good for a pint or two at best). About 7? 7:30?

Cherry Bomb

I say Foundry Foundry - 7/7:30pm.

Off to teach in a few minutes - will just plan on this unless I hear otherwise.

Gonna come, but my landlady's in the bath, so I'll be on me way as soon as can get in and get scrubbed up (but not by her).

Our Lady of The Two Towers

Why is it I always hear about these things too late in the day to change my schedule and come?

[evil villain voice] Ah, Lada, you escape me again. But remember - I only have to be lucky once. You have to be lucky every time. [/evil villain voice]

Well, an entirely different experience to Sunday. Bus difficulties had me flinging my bag at a bus stop in Hackney in frustration and being calmed down by a thoroughly sweet woman. The Foundry had a very aloof cat on the door. I stroked it. It wasn't bothered one way or the other; the way a cat should be. I had a lovely time, lots of good yakking. As a result, I'm rather drunk and listening to my old band. Yes, I'm that far gone.

Thanks, people, for a lovely evening.

Sorry I missed it... I, unfortunately, had to be elsewhere reading depressing newspapers...
Next time. Promise.

It was a good night, drank too much but then I always do - loved the Foundry, anywhere that plays "The Bear Necessities" is alright with me..

Saw on a poster at the bar that Alabama 3 are playing a free gig there on the 30th if anyone's interested?
