CNN wants to know what your ideas are for a fitting memorial at the World Trade Center. Concepts range from

Is it just me, or does anyone else really, really wish they printed the age of the creator of each proposal?

Hopefully, it would be reassuring.

Here's my concept: A Mount Rushmore-like structure with the 30 storye high faces of George W. Bush, Rudy Giuliani, and Donald Rumsfeld carved by laser into it.

Hmmmm...I envisage giant golden arches, stretching from one side of the Hudson to Liberty Island, then over to the other side of the Hudson, symbolising a golden ray of fortitude amidst crisis. Sure, I guess from a certain angle it could look like a giant 'M'...

someone (I hope that in purpose) posted a suggestion a few days ago that consisted essentially of a huge, yellow, hmmm... phallic symbol. That spread as a violent meme for a few days 'till someone out there in cnn finally got the joke and deleted it. Anyone's still got that picture in cache? it used to be somewhere in gallery 45.

I will post something on this topic within a few days. But for now, I just wonder if anyone's thought about what angle the space between those two hand towers would have to be at in order for the sun to align with it. Like whether it might point somewhere specific, as opposed to anywhere the angle of the original Twin Towers might have intersected. Just call it curiosity; I'd be the first to say it was a waste of effort to find out in the first place. But on the off chance it's relevant, I'd want to know, wouldn't you?
