Bad news to start the week with.......

The message I saw suggested it was already too late. They'd done the final shots and destroyed the sets with big axes and then poured petrol on the rest and set it alight. And they hadn't bothered getting the cast to leave the building first. I can still hear the screams

But Babylon 5 fans are going around being smug right now, now it's not just us that have been shafted by The Sci-fi Channel.

How typical, something gets a bit interesting and surreal and they scrap it.

From the official site:

Farscape is a flagship show for The Jim Henson Company. We are proud of its achievements over the past four years, which have included international critical recognition, three Saturn Awards, and a recent Emmy nomination. As always, your show of support is a true inspiration for our company and has been integral to our success.

Although SCI FI Channel has chosen not to pick up a fifth season, The Jim Henson Company is in active development on a new Farscape film, an anime project and is currently discussing syndication of this highly acclaimed series. We are eager to move forward with the Farscape creative team in developing new projects that will resonate with our overwhelmingly loyal fan base.

Prolly old news to anyone else who's interested by now.

Farscape saved?

Savefarscape.com is now free to confirm that the rumors swirling have their basis in fact. Farscape, cancelled last year by the SCI FI Channel, will return as a 4 hour mini-series. While we can't currently name the source of this information, please know that we wouldn't post this news without a trustworthy and solid source. Also, please note that the Jim Henson Company has made no official announcement as of yet.

Filming will begin in December and the mini-series is expected to air next year. There is no current word on distribution. Ben Browder and Claudia Black will reprise their roles as Commander John Crichton and Officer Aeryn Sun.

..And presumably if this is true, they won't have too much troubling persuading the rest of the cast to cancel those panto appearances too. A tentative "woo-hoo" from over here.
