Not sure which forum to put this in, but I figure anyone who's interested is probably gonna check out Books at some point...
Anyone in or near Stoke Newington today might be interested to know that there's a book sale on at the old fire station on Leswin Road... tons of stuff, lots of politics/current affairs, fiction, pretty much all bases covered really. I just bought (for somewhere in the region of six quid) a couple of thrillers, Ken Hollings' "Destroy All Monsters", Albert Speer's "Inside the Third Reich", "Arguments for Socialism" by Tony Benn, a book on Israel/Palestine and Octave Mirbeau's "The Torture Garden".
It's on till 2, I think.
The only drawback is it appears to be a Labour fundraiser, so if you don't take your own bag with you you end up carrying your books home in a hideous New Labour carrier bag. Oh well... least I have somenthing novel to clean up after the dog with... |
