The Novels of the City thread in Books has reminded me of a Stephen Poliakoff film called Hidden City. I haven't seen it for years but it's a bit of a mystery and uses the plot to chart London. Rather than talking about the London that we see it takes the viewer on a tour of what's underneath it and the ways in and out of the city below. The fact that troops were kept there during the war is brought up and some other bits and pieces and I remember finding it really fascinating. I was wondering if anyone else had seen it? |
