A request for you ficsuits

I want to use one of your ficsuits for a Hellboy game. I might start roleplaying again, in a Hellboy campaign, and I would like to use the ficsuit of one of you magickal barbelithians, as a Character.
I still haven´t decided which one.
Might be hard to decide, because the three I know the most through this list are Sebastian, MayTricks, and Mordant Carnival.
I allready have a character named Sebastain (a ficsuit, as a matter of fact, because I played him and used him in some narrations I wrote), and MT and MT are women, and I still do not feel comfortable with the idea of roleplaying femenine characters.
You might ask why I post this here. Well, first reason is that this zone of Barbelith is where I feel more comfortable and relate more with ather ficsuits, and second, well, there is a shamanic, magickal part of rolpelaying for me (which I spoke of in the ficsuit thread), so, I want the permission to use the ficsuit, and I want to be sure of who I am going to be roleplaying/becoming into.
Now I just have to decide who I want to roleplay.
thank you for your attention
I´m outta here

ciarconn,

Why not ask Rex. He might be up for such fun and games. No guarantees however, it is a big suit to fill.

No, that is not a joke about Rex's physical girth.

I thought you might actually be enticed to use a female fiction suit, considering the gathering of magickal power transvestism is usually shamanically recognised to favor.

By the way, I don't know anything about roleplaying, so I don't really know if this would need you to go around the streets where everybody knows you dressed as a woman. But if it involves "thinking" and "deciding" as a woman, then it would suffice for a bit of brain change, as far as you go beyond the one-month-thing. I would think of it as an initiation, or as a movement of the AP.

And yes, you can be "Sebastian".

Hmmmmm....

If you think Ciarconn, that you might want to slip into my suit, I might be up for a little possession...hehe

Wanna play?

I prefer to know the details before I slip out of this plastic dress and stiletto heels for you. I would like to know who is wearing my dress...err, I mean suit, and for what purpose exactly...if you know what I mean.

PM me dear if you want. This exchange has a small fee....tehehe

OK, fisrt, some specificsI have played RPGs for almost ten years (now I´m taking a break from them), mostly Dungeons and Dragons, which means that it´s "table" RPG, not "live" RPG (no disguises or acting in the streets).

On that time, I took advantage of the gaming for two magical purposes: Micro-staliking (becoming other person, if not fully); and micro-groupal-intent(directing the attention of the gamers into the imagined reality of the game).

And Sebastian might have more than a point there. On these ten years, I never felt confortable with the idea of Roleplaying a female character (even as non-playing characters), which must say something of my psychological setup.
And yes, that means that it would be a not-doing for me to roleplay a female character.
Might do it.
So, MT, I maight ask for your ficsuit, as soon as I decide myself.

Again, some other specifics:
This new game is going to be in the Hellboy continuity (the Dark horse comic by Mignola), a lot of magic, demons, ghosts, mysticism, world conspiracy... a lot of old myths reinvented. (a recomendable comic, by the way, not as complex as the Invisibles, but fun and intelligent)

May, I´ll PM you later, I have to go to class now.
thank you everybody

... and if it helps: I might be female, but I'm not the most feminine creature around. I like gadgets and Trek and stuff like that. You could possibly play me as a tranny or something.

Hey, MC, Long time no see!
I have to think about it. Thanks a lot. The thing I would find most attractive or role-playing you is your magickal orientation.
I have to think about which personality/ficsuit would be more of a challenge to me as a magickian.

Could you go into what you're planning on doing with the ficsuits like how you're planning to use them, how it differs to you from just creating a character "from scratch"? I role-play a little - used to a lot - and often do magickal workings with various scenarios/characters.

What you're planning to do sounds interesting but I can't get my head quite around it so could you elaborate... unless, of course, you can't.

roleplay and magic is always intertwined; storytellers setup an imaginary scenario in full detail, with all the laws in that world in order; players get deeply into their character and wander around in the storyteller's world. If you have a magical-savvy GM, a bit of ceremony can really enhance the gaming experience, but I would take personal precautions. If you roleplay with a group that always works together I see no problem. If the characters have their own agenda and work for their own goals - I'd be carefull. I have had several situations where my character and someone else's character were at each others throat (only in-game), and we both started having abnormal successes with the dice (beyond probability).. the same things tend to happen a lot in 'near death situations'. Just a combination of imagination, focus, willpower and energy... Roleplaying easily tends to transcend itself, so a little distance between a player and his/her characters is always healthy... unless the playersgroup is aware of any magical purpose, and goes with the flow.

Then RPG are what I always thought they would be, another game. Whether they serve an evolutionary purpose relies on the player's awareness and no where else.

Parallels between what Fondula indicates for playing RPGs and what some mystical traditions teach for dealing with life "as a game" should be quite evident, especially in the quoted words I bolded. Readers of Castaneda will recognise the premises of "controlled folly" in the healthy distance between player and fiction suit, and of "a game being played" through the warrior's startegy ("For a warrior there is nothing out of control. Life for a warrior is an exercise in strategy. But you want to find the meaning of life. A warrior doesn't care about meanings. He would set his life strategically.").

This notion also predates most of the last volumes of The Invisibles, and is mostly exposed in the famous chess game conversation between Jack and Satan, and developed also in a GM interview ("imagine you were playing chess and got so involved in the game that you forget you;re sitting at the table moving the pieces ... Suddenly, the way you move around the chessboard becomes the rules of your life, and if that piece were to be taken, you'd feel you were dying.").

The jewel Fondula has indicated for me this morning is in the sentence "unless the playersgroup is aware of any magical purpose, and goes with the flow.". In daily life, simply, none of the players is usually aware of any magical purpose, or is like us here, perverted magickal scoundrels, trying to set it.

Try to remember, its just a game.

"Could you go into what you're planning on doing with the ficsuits like how you're planning to use them, how it differs to you from just creating a character "from scratch"? "

No difference. The only idea, seen from the pure RPG point, is to use the personality of a ficsuit instead of creating it from zero.

"If you have a magical-savvy GM, a bit of ceremony can really enhance the gaming experience, but I would take personal precautions. "

I had a "magical-savvy GM" on the Ravenloft Campaign. Very scary, very good. I GMed a Immortals campaign where the gamers palyed themselves, playing a RPG with Lucifer. A big headache, but good game. That one was a ritual for depurating an forming a magickal personna for me.

Will answer Sebastain later
