Im working on Trump 18, THE MOON so I have a few quick questions...

1) What's the creature that's in the waters. Is it a Lobster, Crab, Scorpion or something else?

2) What are the Two Towers supposed to represent?

3) What are the two dogs supposed to represent?

I am by no means an expert on this stuff Keg, but every little helps.

According to the Crowley Tarot introduction that I refer to when casting for myself I can give you some answers (and apologies if you're using some other system).

1) the creature is a scarab - "the holy beetle which, as bringer of light, carries the sun between it's pincers."

2) The two towers - "defense against destructive anxieties, reliable protection for the soul - but also obstacles hindering the discovery of one's inner self."

3) (this is from the crowley imagery and may be different in others) The two dogs - "Two jackal-headed figures with dogs: protective, helpful energies assist in overcoming fears - but also the danger of falling into an abyss if those fears are not overcome."

The Scarab also represents: "ascent from the depths of the unconscious into conscious exsistence - despite all obstacles, development towards the self's unimpeded wholeness is possible"

Hope all (or some) of this helps. There is an excellent list for the major arcana within the magic section. Do a search with Tarot as the keyword and you should get to it. Has general descriptions of the 22 cards as well as some groovy images by the fool and such.

I allus thought the critter was a crayfish, but meant to evoke Scorpio, the moody, dangerous Water Sign.
The two towers are directly related to the two pillars behind the High Priestess; in fact, the whole card is related to that one.
Oh, and one dog's a wolf. Howling at the moon.

The crayfish is supposed to represent our primative, animal heritage, struggling out of the water, and into the moonlight. The moon, of course, is our intuitive mind, not our rational ego-consciousness.

The towers and the dogs represent the duality which lies at the basis of most of the tarot, the cabalah, freemasonry etc. Yin/yang. Salt/sulphur. Male/female. Logic/intuition.

The path leads from our prehistoric heritage, and if we can head between the two extremes, we can find ourselves emerging from the Dark Night Of The Soul and into the bright, clear light of The Sun (Trump 19)
