Anyone else see this? Why on earth was this kid talking with some sort of strange accent and weird ass grammar. He sounded I dunno, Russian or something.

No, I'm serious. You don't forget how to speak your native language all of the sudden by spending 6 months overseas. This guy was all over the place. His intonation and emphasis were all wrong, some of the articles got switched, and he had a noticeable accent when speaking in English.

Maybe he's not American...maybe it is someone posing as John Walker. I don't know, you guys out-conspiracied me in the OBL Tape thread. This guy is far more suspicious to me for whatever reason.

What would be the significance of an American Taliban posuer? Precisely what did he say? Can you link to a transcript? This is somewhat interesting, methinks. And, I have to say, Todd's right -- you don't lose cadence after six months. If you grow up speaking English, you'll be back to it no time -- same goes for any other language.

Hmm.

I maintain that there's a lot nmore to "Taliban John" Walker than anyone knows yet...CIA anyone? i've seen it reported that the CIA/army interviewed all of those prisoners in that fortress at Mazar-e-Sharif, before the revolt, but no report of an american till a week later...and a CIA agent died in that uprising, right? all a bit too much for me, especially after the UBL tape debunking session i waded through yesterday...

You know, not every asshole in the world works for the CIA, tempting though it is to think otherwise.
