I used to use Yahoo news to look up old wire service news stories, but now they charge a fee for articles older than 30 days. Does anyone know of a place on the Web where one can get archive access to wire service (AP, REUTERS, etc.) stories for free?

I'm sure that you'd be able to find something on the topic at hand by doing a Google search. Otherwise, Salon.com seems to ahve a number of archived articles.

Sign up/ register at the New York Times. It's free (I think, still) and will get you any news you need (I think). I think the washington post and most other papers do charge for anything over 2 weeks old (and since I've got nexis thru work, I have no need to use anything else). I do remember www.sunsentinel.com having some kick ass archives in the day.
