A friend of mine has been trying to figure out what actors would best suit the Simpsons cast if they were to make a live action version of the all time greatest television show.

Hayley Joel Osment as Bart Simpson - worse casting ever - Bruce Willis stars as Homer Simpson; Bruce really had to put on weight for his role as Homer, a terrible feat for an actor so well respected for a toned body, yet he feels that playing the character really benefited his acting skills. If Dan Castellaneta isn't playing Homer, I don't see the point. Homer is more about voice than looks. And only Dan Castellaneta can do the Homer voice. And his looks aren't so wrong.... there's no reason why you can't make him bald and fat.

For the rest of the cast, use anyone you want. Although, kudos on Richard O'Brien for Monty Burns, Biz!

And I did like your casting Derric... I was just staying in character.

Anyone hear about the Montreal Just For Laughs Festival a couple of years back when they assembled the entire cast of simpsons (minus the voice of Marge I believe) and did a "live" performance of the "Homer gets a gun" episode? I would have loved to have seen that.

On another note- the name of the gentleman escapes me now- every year he does a one man show of a Shakespear play (Hamlet, Macbeth...etc) in the voices of the Simpsons.

That has to be seen to be believed. Fantastic!
