On the Move

I'm moving today. Not terribly far, but moving nonetheless.
Assuming of course, that U-Haul will give me my damn truck.
Wish me luck and hope I don't crash? : )

Here's some good vibes 'n' stuff... hope it all goes well moving from... ummm... wherever you are now... to... ummm... wherever you will be when you've finished moving!

Seriously, though, good luck. Moving house is one of the things I hate most in the world, and something I seem to do often. (And I'm still suffering from helping a friend move last weekend.)

Hint- only drop the robust stuff!

Just finished a move, and am experiencing that wonderful after move sensation of knowing I won't have to do it again for a long, long time. On the plus side, we've recently found out that our apartment building is known by one and all as the absoulte worse place to live in the entire city. It's like being back in the Rose City. Good luck, and super happy moving vibes coming your way!

I hope everything is well organised and the relief you feel when it's all over is well deserved!

We moved a few months ago. We got a neighbor to move all the heavy stuff and he hired a few guys to help. It was all done while I was at work one day. I left the old place in the morning, came home to the new place in the evening. That's the way to do it.

As a by-product, we helped out a few guys who were looking for work.

But if you insist on doing it yourself, all the best to you. When my brother moved one time, he borrowed a truck from work and I drove it for him. I stopped at a red light where there was a left turn lane (this in Australia where people drive on the left) and a big, new Mercedes pulled up beside me in the left lane, clearly intending to overtake me across the intersection before the lane ran out due to some parked cars. Naturally, when the light turned green I floored it and the Mercedes driver had the choice of running his shiny status symbol into a parked car, fender-bending with my 5 ton truck or swallowing his pride and letting me go ahead. Now, if he'd been driving a Corolla I would have politely waved him ahead....

Thank you muchly all, I guess I'm now an official resident of Upstate New York. Unfortunately, at the moment, I'm all alone. My fiance is still in Connecticut, waiting on the U-Haul we were promised. They've guarenteed that he'll have it by 6:30 at the latest, which means I'll see him by ten at the earliest. Looks like I may be sleeping on the floor.

It's weird here. I'm not used to being this close to the sky, nor am I used to there being space between buildings. Like actual fields. We're close to a lot of stuff- a fabulous diner, a big ol' K-Mart, a dentist, an optometrist, a dance studio, Albany, a bowling alley, neat stuff like that. Just a little lonesome now, is all. Thanks for the well wishes.

Glad it went well - hope the truck arrive and unpacking (the HARD part) doesn't take too long...
