Anyone been following the commonwealth games? Many of the games aren't exactly gripping spectator sport but Manchester is a really fun place to be at the moment.
The whole city is buzzing. As each competition ends there are plenty of superfit athletes out on the town to celebrate. Yesterday a lad in an England tracksuit and, wait for it, a gold medal dangling jauntily from his neck strolled past me on Oxford Road. Then later on in a bar near the athletes digs we were just surrounded by on tour sportspeople out for the night. Striking up a conversation and finding out the random lad in the pub had just won a silver medal.
So, Manchester is buzzing, just thought I'd let you know. |
