I love the Battlestar Galactica fan mixing it up with the Peter Jackson fans.

Utterly bizarre that they'd change the last shot. I wonder if I could get a region-free copy of the New Zealand version from friends in Australia....

For those who don't care to read between the lines:
There are, thanks to Miramax, three different cuts of "Heavenly Creatures" - Peter Jackson's original cut, the one Miramax made to take out "Britishness" (as well as some other "objectionable material"), and the one most of us not in the Antipodes actually saw, the version where Jackson put some material back, but wasn't allowed to restore his original final shot.

The DVD release will, apparently, ONLY contain the Miramax (or Miramax/Jackson) cut, not the original version.

Oddly enough, in this case I really don't care about seeing a "different version" than people around the world, as the movie as I saw it was near-perfect. Heavenly Creatures is a great film, startling original in story and shooting. If what was excised was Jacksonian gore (ala Dead Alive or whatever), I think that might even detract from the movie as I saw it.
