Lustmord. Definitely. Think of ambient that's been locked in a room with naught but dodgy LSD and some Elder Gods. Creepy stuff, but not too far off-base from something like Eno's On Land, say.
Intransitive Recordings have some good stuff: the Hudak/Lescalleet album is fucking gold.
Also, I'd suggest checking out The Necks's latest album, Aether. It's fairly enoesque, though I think it's one of their weaker: you might want to give Sex a go... more minimalist than ambient, though.
Hey - why don't you give some tips, acksherly? I know little past Eno in terms of canonical ambient. I'm assuming you know Bryars, say? |
