MIllar world launch parties

Well looks like the wait to see if any other comic creators would rush to fill the void left by the WEF with their own web initiatives is over.

Rampant self-publicist, Mark Millar has stepped into the breach with Millar world. Official launch is this thursday with launch parties set to be held in pubs around the world - the man himself will be in London for the event, along with Bryan Hitch- check the site for details.

So what do people think of Millar - as a writer and potential successor to Warren Ellis on the web forum front?

I enjoyed Millar's first Authority storylines, but in retrospect I think it was the delicious FQ art. I dropped the Ultimates around the same time The Wasp flashed The Hulk. His comics remind me of Evan Dorkin's depressingly accurate rant on 'adult' comics in Dork #3...

I think that Mark Millar being a powerful person in the comics community is probably ten times worse than Ellis. This is sort of depressing - do comics fans really need to build their communities around news sites and creator's personal sites?

but he does have a better sense of humour than ellis.

I Still think that 'I'm a lay priest' shtick is a grand gag.

Millar's Authority was for me sort of a probe, ok, and thats it.
UXMen is full recycled crap.
Ultimates is in my opinion the best superhero crap recycled comicbook for teenagers currently being written and will trace firmly the before-and-after line Authority had imprinted in sand. Ultimates rocks.
