'Part Time Lover' plushy trumpeter at Bond St station

I'd be grateful if one or more London Barbeloids could reassure me that I'm not alone in being bemused by the buskers who're a constant presence at the foot of the escalator in Bond St Tube station. There's sometimes one, more often two; one has a trumpet, one a tambourine. They're playing along to a backing track of 'Part Time Lover'. Always 'Part Time Lover'.

And they're always dressed in moth-eaten Sylvester (or 'Sylvester & Tweetie Pie' fame) pussy-cat costumes, complete with whole-head masks.

They are there, aren't they?

I think you're looking at the world through rose-coloured glasses there Ganesh. I don't recall ever seeing that, but once or twice a week lately I've seen a guy at the foot of the escalators using a big orange traffic cone as a trumpet. He's not that bad either. I don't know what you're imbibing to turn him into an animated feline jazz combo, but pass the pipe this way ...

Oh, I've seen him too. The mock-feline trumpeter's there today, though...

Weeeel, far be it from me to say that they are there - that would be to enter a philosophical minefield. But I too have seen these critters. For what that's worth.

Ah! I look forward to the experience. Shall I pass on your regards?

I've seen them. Through Ganesh's eyes.

My eyes.
