Morrison/Millar’s 2099 Apocalypse/End of the World: Is It Genuine?

Just found two old Overstreet Fans (#17/18 dating from Nov/Dec ’96) in a bargain bin which contain an ‘Untold Tales’ feature by Scott Braden in which Morrison and Millar comment on their plans for Marvel’s 2099 line which obviously didn’t see publication. As these interviews aren’t contained in the list on Grant’s website and as I’ve never heard the two writers mention these stories elsewhere I wanted to ask some of the more experienced 'lithers whether this stuff is genuine. Or is it simply me not getting the joke?

Thanks for the link, Moriarty. That’s strong evidence for the case that this is the real McCoy. In hindsight, the second interview (for which I couldn’t find a link, unfortunately) might prove to be even more interesting as it is revealed that Morrison and Millar had planned a twelve-issue limited series called “End of the World” where in an alternate Marvel Universe Cerebro fuses with Professor X to create an entity called X-Terminus which would ultimately kill off this entire universe and then go off in search of other worlds to destroy all mutants. Makes you wonder whether parts of the original proposal might have resurfaced in the Cassandra Nova storyline.

Here are all the Untold Tales from Overstreet Magazine. Good reading! I just hope all the links work.

Alan Moore's Twilight
John Byrne's The Last Galactus Story
James Robinson's Firearm Annual
Alan Moore's 1963 Annual
Morrison and Millar's Marvel Tales: Apocalypse.
Morrison and Millar's Marvel Tales: End of the World
Kurt Busiek's Marvels II
Gerry Conway and Geroge Perez' JLA/Avengers
Alan Moore's Nightjar
Chuck Dixon's Captain America
Rick Veitch's Swamp Thing

I had never even heard of Nightjar.

For more info on Twilight, check here for Alan Moore's original proposal. It's a really interesting story. I especially like how the old Quality characters have a major part in it.
