Seems some of you Brits have been a bit naughty of late. The UN just declared England and Wales to be the crime capitals of the West. It's a good thing you guys don't have guns over there.

How do people feel about this? I think the idea of crime, the pervasive fear, fueled by phantom stats like these, is worse than the actual reality.

IMO its a result of sellling of ones populace to multi-national companies as cheap, loyal labour. It is a model designed in the US, being implemented with greater zeal, by Tony Blair. Ignorant and titulating media is used to pacify the nation, whilst creating unattainable archetypes, leading to disillusionment. Self medication is prolific, in both legal drugs, such as alcohol and tobacco, and illegal. It is, as reported in the recent census, Britain's no. 1 passtime, intoxication. The associated crime must account for the figures in Britain.
