In my current search to sort my life out so I can return to arguing about stuff on Barbelith I though I'd ask if anyone knows of any decent job hunting sights on the web. Especially creative/media based ones.
Personally I'm interested in Britain specificly the Midlands & Yorkshire, however I've read a couple of times of Barbelith member having employment problems so I thought a thread like this may just be helpful in general.
Come on guys help me out, it's either this or I work for a multi-national bank.
Seconded-- I'm interested in this too, tho' my location is London. But I suggest this thread would be better off in the Conversation, as the Policy is now used for discussions of... well, policy, and the help-me-out stuff mostly goes in Conversation.
Yes please, apologies my bad. However don't things get deleted after a month in the Conversation? I thought this might be useful to have hanging around for when inevitabley weget fired for spending to much time on Barbelith and not enough time doing our jobs.
I've got good value from monster.com, obvious as that may be. They do have good penetration and coverage.
hell, work for a multinational bank, though. I work for one of the most hated corporations in the UK, and it hasn't changed me. Apart from that nervous tic with my eyebrow and the compulsion to stroke white cats.
Unfortunatly I'm one of the extras that would be taken out in earlier scen. I mean yes if the gave me super villain like global power and a nice white kitty (and maybe a prosthetic hand) then I'd consider staying.
Right I don't know how to post links but here's the URL's for two others.

Erm, well here's a directory of media recruitment agencies, if that's any help. Most of them are based in London of course, but you've got a couple in Yorkshire as well there, Reid.
Ahh the ancient method of putting off a job search by doing some research on the internet . Well it's what usually happens to me when I first sit down to job search, easily distracted bloke that I am.
I'll echo Workthing as it gave me some good advice the last time I was updating my CV.
Likewise Monster.com they both have really good search engines and you can automate it so they e-mail you anything that comes through.
Only ever had a few things that I've applied to come through but it doesn't hurt.
Just wondering what kind of job are you looking for specifically, because either media age or new media age could help, their jobsite is www.newmediajobs.co.uk.
Anyone care to weigh in with their, how I got a cool job off the internet stories, because I need cheering up...
