A colleague has just told me about the two Inuit who paddled up an icy creek and, having been away hunting overnight, grew very hungry. So they lit a fire and salivated while some seal grilled.

Unfortunately, the fire burned a hole in the floor of their canoe and they both drowned. Which goes to show you can't have your kayak and heat it too.

Reminds me of a piece of football trivia which was bugging me a couple of weeks ago. I was trying to recall which England footballer famously played a match against a team featuring his teacher during the 1998 World Cup finals.

After a while I remembered: It was David Batty.

And Batistuta.

And speaking of sport, I hear Sky have bought the rights to broadcast the 2002 World Origami Championships live from Tokyo. Sadly, they will only be available on Paper-View.

And of course, the embarrassed press sconference where Sven introduced Beckham, who 'will talk about what we are to work on after the World Cup.'

Beckham nodded, and said: "Yeah, they're small, minty, and Victoria says they are only two calories'

To which Sven cut in, "No, David, TACtics..."
