Anyone ever pay attention to cosplay at all..? I might take my younger brother and sister to the Otacon convention out in Baltimore in July and was kicking around the idea of helping to generate a costume or two for them. If I were to really get into such and endeavor, I thought about going as Wesker from Resident Evil or something along those lines...however it would be more out of fun than having to take part in anything moreso than that.
It got me thinking though...who takes part in this or finds the need to take part. Is this a cultural phenomena that resembles other outward expressions like the goth look, etc. Or does it point towards a fondness for the need to role-play or identify with a character beyond the visual aesthetic?
Here's some cool and sometimes admittedly strange links I've come across...
