My new sigilizing technique is unstoppable!

Lately I've been mucking about with various text and graphics packages to create these: Gallery.

These are fascinating, but I'd always thought that sigils were supposed to be, um, "contained" enough that one could hold the image in one's mind (for charging, etc.)

Maybe it's my puny visualization skills, but I'm not sure I could do that with these....

I'd like to hear more about how you go from a statement to a finished sigil.

For most of them, what I've been doing is typing my statement of intent into a package that lets you use fancy fonts, coloured backgrounds and so forth. Then I've been cut-and-pasting the coloured text into a graphics package, and applying varions effects to distort the writing until it becomes illedgible. With others, I've used a more traditional technique, jazzed up a little with image effects.

As for charging the sigils: the smaller ones are meant to be charged, but some of them are meant to work in reverse, if you like: I charge them, and then other viewers get the effects. For example, "blueheart" is a creativity booster. At least that's the theory.
