Protest Stamp Down

This seems to be the first Anti-War Protest I've about heard being stamped out. I haven't heard about it anywhere else yet (not read papers or seen news today). Are they going to make examples of the 16 who have been arrested?

Hartford Local Rag....

Indy Media

and the popular view of the populace....

[QUOTE] The march didn't sit well with others, including Brian Baldyga of East Longmeadow, Mass., who was in town on business.

"They should learn that America's not the problem," he said. "We're not the ones flying planes into buildings full of innocent people. You can't deal with these people in a civilized way. You have to use the military." [QUOTE]

Is it going to get worse...?

With that as the popular opinion how can it not be.

What's getting my nose twitching about this is I can't seem to find much more information about it. The Local Website mentions it and Indy Media.

I've had a look at CNN and done a variety of web searches on it, even looked at Hartford Courts. It's kind of worrying - it wasn't a huge protest (200 plus people) but in both stories the same incident of Police Brutality is described.

If anyone finds anything i.e. what's happened to the 16 arrested etc it'd be interesting to see what the media do with it.

Remember, kids, be a smart protester. Carry a video camera. You can buy one at Sears and return it in 30 days for a full refund, no questions asked.

A regular camera is good too. A little easier to run with as well, I find.

I don't know if you could effectively translate the 9/11 tactics to Afghanistan. The closest approximation would be stampeding a donkey into the marketplace.

You may find that there are, in fact, a few questions asked if you try to return a camera after it's been broken into small pieces by a police truncheon.

a female broadcaster on l.b.c. asked - quite seriously - if, because the met is spending truckloads of money on extra policing in london right now, it might be a good idea to ban the anti-war demonstrations. just to save money/resources, you understand.

Hmmm what's going on here then? I'm not a fan of sport but well it seems that a public figure is not allowed to comment upon the war in Afghanistan and this is in Australia!

"During the on-air talk, he revealed his views that America brought the acts of terrorism upon itself and that Australia should not be sending troops into battle with the U.S. "

"It's not our problem," he said. "It has nothing to do with us."

So much for freedom of speach.

Have you ever been trampled by a donkey? It’s no joke, let me tell you.
