Bloody Folly

It bore so little relation to reality that diplomats around the world spent yesterday shaking their heads in disbelief, before sinking into gloom and despair. Our own Foreign Office tried gamely to spot the odd nugget of sense in the Bush text - but, they admitted, it was an uphill struggle. Israelis committed to a political resolution of the conflict were heartbroken. Even Shimon Peres, foreign minister in Ariel Sharon's coalition, reportedly called the speech "a fatal mistake", warning: "A bloodbath can be expected."

Thew speech was amazingly stupid. Interviews afterwards all had Sharron's spokesmen saying that , yes,m Issreal did have things to do, but America wouldn't be mnaking them do them until the Palestinians had done their bit. And therefore they wouldn't get done ever. Because there is no fucking way they'll let Palestine get on with it because they still have tanks to drive and walls to built and innocents to shoot and God Lord is it fun!

And presicisly how is encourageing a natiuon to abandon democracy in favour of "democracy" going to get us, err... anywhere at all?

Can someone please tell me if it would be too harsh of me to suggest that he's doing this omstly to get at oil reserves and so forth to give all his business lobbyists one next market to come in, collonize, fuck over and abandon? Hasn't America stuck it's cock in enough ears all ready?
