Insaniquarium is the answer! Warning: It is not recommended to start this at work...I just killed an hour and a half with this applet from the deeps. So you have been warned: It's highly addictive.

And I want those guppies for real. They are the answer to all my money problems. Can't someone use genetic engineering or something to produce this truly useful species???

I've got the Swordfish and the MotherGuppy...wish I could get the skeletal Guppy that you don't have to feed.

This is so cool....I've recently been heavily researching setting up a marine aquarium, and while the expense has prevented me from setting up a tropical ecosystem in my apartment (so far), I was thinking that a great idea for SIM programmers would be SIMaquarium, as all the variable and possible combinations of fish, invertebrates, plants, bacteria, etc. would make for a fascinating game.

Oh I thought they went in order, I got the skelefish and the oyster, I got the skelefish first, but another guy here got the swordfish.

The swordfish doesn't seem to do very much, defense-wise...in fact, my swordfish seems to actually enjoy pushing that alien/lizard/predator thing towards my precious little guppies. Maybe they pissed hir off or something.

I think I must've been doing it wrong... hm...oh dear. I still think
Alchemy is the best web-based game I've happened upon... I defy you not to get totally addicted, and then have to stop playing a week later because whenever you close your eyes, your brain starts generating its own board.

Fishie...

Was going to be first to reply but then I got hooked and having been playing much. They don't seem to come in order as I've had various ones in diferent orders. The skeletal guppy is good, as is the pregnant one.

Now back to the fish.

OK finally got pregnant fish, snail, skeleton fish, oyster, mermaid (what exactly does she do, do you collect the notes?) and the swordfish before I realised I had to stop. Damn you for introducing me to this game.

It's been done. And it's terrible.

Insaniquarium however, is great. I'm not too sure what the star potion thingy is all about on Tank 2, but getting rid of all your guppies and running a tank of pure carnivores is most definately the route to fast cash.

theres a faq on the news page covering the mermaid and the star thingies... and all sorts of other gubbinry as well. This game has been sucking up my day in the most evil way though.

Mwuah-ha-ha-ha-haaaa!!!

...I can't stop playing. I've been at this for five hours. Help me, someone help me. Pull the plug out the back of my PC, hack my network cable into inch-long pieces, duck-tape my hands under the table, I don't care, just do something

Star potions seem somehow to turn guppies into yellow fish that produce stars. If these stars are caught in a starcatcher then the star catcher produces diamonds. I have no clue as to how the potion should be administered. Really no clue.

You should all check out the other winning games from this site -

The Banja one looks excellent - I couldn't get Kung-Fu Chess to work here at work but sounds good, and I've just downloaded the Ace of Angels demo and the Bad Milk demo so I don't know what they're like yet.

I don't know why I didn't heed your warning, but this is the second straight day of work I've wasted feeding guppies. I hate you all.

And what is up with the swordfish? He does nothing, nothing I tell you!

Ummmmmm... Maybe I'm thick, but what does one feed the carnivores? I figured they'd just eat the guppies, but they died.

The carnivores do eat the guppies...the baby ones that is. You have to buy them as and when needs require. Here's where having preggo the mommafish comes in handy.

Guppie-raising day two...maybe this time it'll save my progress?

Why do the egg pieces cost so much after the first time and why are these alien looking things eating my fish? I don't remember having to contend with things like this back when I had fish. Is it because the guppies crap out money?

Yay! Thanks, Grey Area. I'm now gearing up for hours of carnivore-filled fun!

Does anyone have any theories as to why this game is so addictive? Playing it isn't really fun, it's more like a compulsion. I feel as if someone's conducting shady experiments on us...
