A sort of suggestion thread for stuff you've recently read, watched or heard that you'd reccommend highly.

Heathen, the new David Bowie album, is brilliant!

Can we recommend stuff that we've recently eaten? I realize it's area-specific, but it's not my fault that most of you don't live in my city...

That being said: Pistachio Kulfi ice cream, from the Big Chill in Little Italy (Toronto). Creamy pistachio with saffron and nutmeg. Frozen God. The smoothies made by the curly-haired elf-like boy who works there are also really great.

I'm really liking the new Afu-Ra album, Life Force Radio. I also really liked The Intuitionist by Colson Whitehead. It's very smart and tongue-in-cheek, and the bits about Elevator theory are brilliant. So there.

If we're doing foods (and I think we should) may I recommend the Hurley's Burger at Hurley's Irish Pub in Montreal and the Baileys Irish Creme Cheesecake which is amazing but they have changed receipees sinc ethe original and it is no longer worthy of the title 'sex on a plate' but is still damn great.
