Right - the Haus of Being all manly has the answers. The chosen venue is the Spitz, which is at 109 Commercial Street, E1. Nearest tubes Aldgate East (District, Hammersith and City line) and Liverpool Street (Hammersmith and City, Circle, Metropolitan, Central and mainline suburban rail services). From Aldgate East walk North up Commercial Street - Spitz is built into the East side of Old Spitalfields Market (can't miss it - it's an enormous covered market square on your left, just after a big church on your right. Map from Aldgate East here Spitz is a green building with a chalkboard outside, about halfway along the east side.
From Liverpool Street - the same map is good. Just come out of the station onto Bishopsgate, cross the road, turn left and walk up Bishopsgate until you get to Brushfield Street on your right (just before the big ABN-AMRO building with the big LED screen telling you the temperature, I think), then turn right, walk the length of Brushfield Street (with the south side of the market on your left-hand side), then turn left and walk along the east side. Alternatively, you could venture inside the market.
I'll probably get there about 6:30 - if anyone wants to come but doesn't know what I or Plums or Angel or Al (?) look like then message me and I will give you my mobile number. |
