I think it’s something like ‘feel the need to justify something’… isn’t it in the ‘Work is Hell’ collection ? I think the phrase ‘yawning eternity’ may be used in connection with it, and I have the idea that it’s something to do with ‘should you have an affair at work’…
I’d love to be more useful, but my collections are in boxes. Curse the demon of moving (though bless the movers, who didn’t damage any of my stuff, huzzah) !
