I really enjoyed working at a hospital - whether is part time pay work or volunteer, Im sure theres facilities that would be eager to have you help out. not only do you get to meet a lot of people there, but if you work with the patients you can do a lot of good
same thing with local shelters. a few years ago I found out there was a family crisis center just a few blocks from me and Id never known it (they deal with women and children in abusive situations, so they are understandably a bit secretive). its very rewarding to help in organizing drives for these places, or even giving some time or your skills - give someone a call, Im sure theyll be more than grateful for any assistance you could provide |
