I've been downloaded some Nick Cave tunes, and I'm listening to the tune "Red Right Hand" and I think I've heard it in a movie - am I right, can anyone help?

Bear, a great site for these kinds of things is Allmusic.com Type "red right hand", choose "song" and voila!:

Albums with a song "Red Right Hand"
  on Scream [96] - Scream
  on Coded [00] - Coded
on Red Right Hand [94] - Cave, Nick
by CAVE/H/W  on Songs in the Key of X: Music from and I [96] - Songs in the Key of X: Music from and I
by CAVE/H/W  on Scream 2 [97] - Scream 2
by CAVE/H/W  on Best of Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds [98] - Cave, Nick
by CAVE/H/W  on Box of Moonlight [97] - Box of Moonlight
by CAVE/H/W  on Let Love In [94] - Cave, Nick

So, to answer your question: "Red Right Hand" has been in at least two televisual media projects:

(1) Most famously in the SCREAM movies (including a re-recorded version for SCREAM 3)

(2) Prominently in a two-part episode of the TV series THE X-FILES; the episode title escapes me right now--it's some guy's name. Duane somebody, I think.

That is a cool site, cheers. It was probably Scream then, rather than X-files I heard it.

Cheers

...And Chris Carter claims that he was listening to the song non-stop when he was writing the treatment for the X-Files. He should have tried the Bee Gees instead...

incidentally, red right is gay hanky code for a fisting bottom, giving this song amusing connotations for some of us...

You're one microscopic cog in my catastrophic plan, Crunchie...
