How about "Hit me Baby One More Time"? Because you are clearly a sucker for really commercial stuff. You may think the White Stripes are less commercial than Britney Spears, but you would be wrong. I am a CLOSE PERSONAL FRIEND of someone who knew Jack White once, and he distinctly remembers him saying that he wanted to be like Moby and sell all his songs to adverts.

More obscure Pavement. More Chimney Factory. More Coldwater Suplex bands.

(Just thought I'd get it over with...)

thanks Haus, I was waiting for that one. I didn't want to put the disclaimer on it to see who'd leap first. Mind you now I'll never know if the person I expected to attack would.

But suggestions please.

And Haus before you leave... [indie sulk]I was listening to Chimney Factory years before you ever heard of them.[/indie sulk]

"Are You On the Inside Or the Outside of Your Pants" by the Makers will fit into the general vibe that you have going on with the rest of the music, very rock'n'roll in the "everything-that's-good-about-rock'n'roll-these-days" type way.

"Little White Trash" by the Didjits is another one of those songs that could restore one's faith in rock'n'roll (and it's from the late eighties to boot).

"He's A Whore" by Cheap Trick is flat out the best power pop song ever written.

"Raining Blood" by Slayer, just cuz it fits on just about any compilation cd or tape.

'Mystery Girl' - Yeah Yeah Yeahs... and something by the Von Bondies.

Ok, I'm bumping this back up to try get a few more ideas. Thanks for the above but the vibe I'm going for is a new music indie CD party comp. Something I know bugger all about. But it has to be recognisable enough for people not as versed in the obscure as you seem to be.

Ok. I'll say it. I want a mainstream rockin' cd.
I am a pleb.
Help me.
