Acid Casualties.com has an entire new Malkmus show online, it's one of the most recent shows in Argentina. The sound is pretty decent, but the big draw is that the set is mostly brand new songs for the upcoming LP, improvised covers, a couple Pavement songs, and a handful of songs from the Jicks record. It's really fucking great, and the new songs are wonderful, especially Oyster aka Crimson Alligator which I've already known for a while now.

It's being recorded right now. I would guess that it will be released sometime in the September/October area. No clue what he might call it, or even title any of those songs. Don't get attached to any of those lyrics by the way - he never comes up with the real lyrics til the end of recording a record.

You've really got to check out the "indie karaoke" bit at the end of the show... they take on "The One I Love" by R.E.M., Oasis' "Champagne Supernova", Radiohead's "Creep" and "High and Dry", Sheryl Crow's "If It Makes You Happy", The Beatles' "Hey Jude", and finally The Rolling Stones' "Sympathy for the Devil". It's so cute.
