As people have been cheering the Senegal performance, I just want to state my amazement at the fact England appear to have remembered how to play. The stunning 161 from Trescowthick (or however it's spelt), Butcher's superb 94 (although respect to the astonishing bit of spin that took him), and even the final partnership between Thorpe and Flintoff that reached the 400. What do you reckon: England add another 150 at least, leave Sri Lanka something like 300 (or more) to get over Saturday and then bowl them out totally on Sunday, leaving Monday free?
Is this the return of English cricket? Is this more important than the football (heresy?)? Should the English finally get rid of Stewart? |
