Okay, y'know, I spoke up for the Transformers series when it was first solicited, and I stand by what I said. I'm quite enjoying it. But what the fuck? I mean, I guess I kind of expected it, but GI Joe, Micronauts, Battle of the Planets and now fucking Thundercats? I'm glad there's so many comics coming out that are producing big hype and all, but where's the fresh ideas, the Sandmans or Preachers of the current crop? I'm a little worried here.

Zoom.

Cool. I was hoping something would happen to draw Cameron out of obscurity...this should do the trick.

Actually As far as i'm concerned the best thing about the success of the new transformers comic is that it has allowed Dreamwave to go fully independant and finance and market some of there previously unprofitable non-mrechandise related comics - surely no bad thing

Oh and it means that Titain - the UK comic publisher (well really they just repackage existing material and produce co-editions, but hey) can make some money out of their World wide licence on both US and UK transformers comics - this means that transformers fans will finally be able to read all those stories they heard about but could never get their hands on - (Target: 2006 being the first Worldwide collection of UK originated material) including some of Bryan Hitch's earliest work. again surely not a bad thing.

According to this week's All The Rage, they may not be as independant as we thought...

It just might be that Dreamwave got a HUGE upfront deal with Diamond for them to buy enough copies for them to go independant.

*shrugs* And with DC able to buy Diamond at any time, the whole thing kind of smells to me. I'm sorry, there really is no way that Transformers #3 should be the best selling comic of the month.
