Is anyone watching The West Wing and 24 on Sunday night's in the UK?

These shows are making that transition from weekend to work nice 'n' smooth. Any fans amongst you guys?

Yeah, I like 24 quite a lot. I wouldn't say I'm a fan exactly (Apart from the odd documentary, Buffy's the only thing I actually give a shit about on the telly), but it's alright...passes the time. For me, it's a bit like Smallville and ER - fun, but it just doesn't have that zing factor.

24 got interesting but only after about 7 or 8 episodes, it's amazing that it lasted long enough for people to go "wow!" when stuff like Harsh Realms get's canned (justified or not I don't know) after 20 minutes.

Be smug, BFB, be very smug.

I am grinding my teeth that I didn't jump on the 24 thing earlier and it's too late now. Watched just the one show and it was so good it didn't matter that I had no idea what was going on or who was who. Shall await a repeat of the whole darn thing, drooling.

& West Wing too is a secret shameful addiction, even though I've seen them all on cable. I was pleased to discover that the guy who plays Josh is married the woman who plays the mother in Malcolm in the Middle. Shame all the Brits in WW seem to be snotty aristos though.

It was especially good this week that we had the theme of "going stark raving ga-ga bonkers" played out over the two shows.

Josh: goes slightly mad, but manages to get a grip.

Jack: utterly fruitbat. Mad as ten bears. Even his wife and daughter are less relieved to see him and be rescued than they are concerned by how much of a mentalist he has become.

ZoCher - I think that BBC Choice (if you have digital) are repeating the whole series in the final week (and it's on DVD/VHS in August). Is that right about Josh and Malcolm's mum? I never knew that.

I loved Sunday's West Wing - beautifully paced and shot and edited; The whole music/sirens thing worked brilliantly; Some lovely Josh/Leo moments (honestly the WW melts my cynical heart sometimes. Don't know why, don't know how). Could go on being boring, so will stop.

Totally agree Flyboy - I think that's partly why 24 is so addictive 'cos Kiefer's great at making you believe that he would genuinely torture you get the info he needs to free his family. (It's those eyes). Which direction is it going to go in now?

Now we get to see what the Drazen's contingency plan is - which probably means there's at leats one person working inside either the CTU or Palmer's staff, probably more. Oh, and we find out about the awful, awful, totally unethical things Jack did for the CIA in Serbia...

Yeah, it got interesting for me when we find out that it's not about assassinating the first black guy to run for President, that's juss incidental...
