At the risk of sounding nasty and cynical…
Is it just me, or is the timing of the News of the World story about Angus Deayton (sex and drug romps with prostitute) and the follow-ups about him being concerned about ribbing during the filming of the next edition of Have I Got News For You (topical comedy show he hosts on BBC1, international Barbelithers) suspicious… in the light of the fact that the next edition is on at the same time as the new series of Big Brother ?
Normally, I’d expect to see some coverage of this sort of angle on it in Private Eye, but given that the editor is also one of the regulars on the show, I don’t know if it’ll happen…
Can anyone reassure me I’m being unpleasantly jaded and cynical… or has it crossed other minds ?
