Went through a design program that featured interactive art and illustration as strengths. Having a degree may be something to chuck beyond initial appearances, but if it's a good school, it helps you build a worthwhile portfolio. My old school, Tyler School of Art, was well known for the quality of work. Most kids coming from other places didn't have a chance when it came to presentation.
So...um...if you're gonna do it, do it right. Otherwise, work like a madman and figure out your consistant method for how you solve problems with illustration. After that it's marketing. And right now, there are so few jobs...prepare for the worst. |
