Not that I'm complaining... I love that programme. (There would be a smiley here but I don't know how just yet.)

The British OAP Awards

And of course, James Herbert & Aristophanes (together for the first time)- The Fogs... some dead pirates come back during a spell of inclement weather to swap pithy dialogue. Sometimes they jump, too. (Theatre was much better in them days).

Lost consonants joke - very old (sorry):

Why are there so many consonants in Edward Woodward's name?

Because without them he'd be E-wa Woo-wa...

This is turning into I'm Sorry I Haven't A Clue, Chairman Stoat.

The Apple-Picker
12:48 / 22.05.02
I see that we've expanded from just lost consonants to lost vowels as well. In that case:

Over Bach (a poem of spiritual and existential angst in which the speaker realizes that he is "so over Bach.")

Elation (the final book in the Bible ends happily)

Pavémen (Joan River's fabulous new rhinestone brooches, available on the QVC home shopping network in shapes reminiscent of gingerbread fellas, and the special limited edition Abe Vigoda bust)

Irkenstock (shoes that just bug the hell out of you)

A few more, then:

A Midsummer Night's Dram

(the) Bar Necessities Of Life

Machiavelli's, The Price

and, of course, Steinbeck's Of Ice And Men

Tezcatlipoca
18:02 / 22.05.02
This is turning into I'm Sorry I Haven't A Clue, Chairman Stoat

Indeed. Lost Consonants will eventually die a death, only to be replaced by Mornington Crescent and Name That Barcode...
