It's an amazing piece of dog shit on so many levels. The opening sequence of Chewbacca's "family" grunting and howling that never ends, Art Carney, Carrie Fischer singing the Star Wars theme with lyrics, and Bea Arthur rapping....

I challenge everyone who likes Star Wars to watch it all the way through.

I'll take that challenge. Got a copy I can watch?

God help me, I saw this when it originally aired. I was ten or eleven years old: and still I remember Mark Hammill keeping his gouged-up face turned from the camera as best he could, and the crappy SFX and the disappointing cartoon (though the character design for that is, in retrospect, an interesting departure: hints of AEON FLUX to come)... and Carrie Fisher... well, I didn't know about cocaine in those days, but even then I could sense that there was something wrong with that lady...

Heh. Man, I think I might have a copy of that at my parents house. I know I have a copy of an Ewok special over there. I'll have to look sometime.

What I remember about it is being let down as a kid - but being *really into* the story that aired either right before or right after it, a distopian Christmas story where Christmas has been replaced with "Commerce Day," and people hang dollar bills on the tree.

Never got any reruns, that one. Loved it as a kid.
