The Cameron Stewart Watch begins. From Comicon.

The editor reports Geoff Johns also came in handy on September's Catwoman Secret Files.

“He gave writer Ed Brubaker - who wrote everything but one page of this special, as I'll explain in a minute - some advice on how to make Secret Files issues matter enormously to regular readers as well as newcomers,” said Cohen. “And the results are pretty incredible.

“First we have a story that showcases the many lives - and looks - of Catwoman, with art by Powers' Michael Avon Oeming, inked by Mike Manley. Then, new Catwoman penciler Cameron Stewart makes his debut with two short stories, one focusing on Slam Bradley, the other setting up a storyline that starts in Stewart's first issue - the first one to come out post-Secret Files - featuring Black Mask.

“Speaking of Black Mask, his profile piece is drawn by Cliff Chiang, with text by Geoff Johns. Geoff's writing it because Black Mask was introduced in the first Batman comic - maybe the first comic, period - he ever read, and he's not going to be able to write the character any time soon, so he asked for the chance to do this much, at least.

“The issue also features profile page art by Stewart and Javier Pulido, as well as a two-page story by Brubaker with art by Age of Bronze's Eric Shanower that reveals - get ready, message board fans - why Selina's pal Holly isn't nearly as dead as readers of Action Comics Weekly think she ought to be.”
