Ok, I've been away from Barbelith for quite awhile. Other than a few sporadic visits, I haven't been around much since about October. Obviously some things have changed here. Just wondering if someone can catch my ignorant ass up. What happened, and why? Specifically, why are new admissions on a referral basis now? Is that just because it got too crowded, or did some bad shit go down? If so, whatever it was, I guess I'm glad I missed it!

You may have been lucky enough to miss the whole "the Knowledge+1" troll feeding scandal. Barbelith's newest supervillian, taking the place once firmly held by the greenland posse (RRM and hir legion). Though this villian may not have been defeated yet, he keeps resurfacing even though he was banished from the city by kindly mayor Tom on more than one occassion. A inept master of disguise, he keeps trying to sneak past the city gates in shabbily constructed suits. But he is quickly uncovered and ejected. He lately attempted a fictionsuit possession of the mighty Ganesh, but this to seems to have failed.

He lurks just beyond the walls of barbelith in the dark world of the trolls, plotting pointless annoyance...

Really, it was something worth missing. I think I may have made it sound more interesting than it was. It didn't add anything, it just annoyed and offened people. Sort of like RRM, but more juvenile and with less conspiracy theory. Though he is one of the reason for the restriction on membership.
