Damn I've been watching Play too long today...

Marilyn Manson- Tainted Love Girl gets groped a couple of times (by other women so that's okay) and immediately turns to the dark side of the force, all female goths being willing to lap dance for the obviously superior male goths.

Sugababes - Freak Like Me Mainly on the grounds that if any male group did a video where they slapped women around in a similar way no matter how hard they try, claims of 'irony' will not save them from the witch-hunt.

a lot of music vidoes annoy me mildly, as they seem to be unimaginative. but the prodigy's 'smack my bitch up' (strangely enough) pissed me off rather more, by sticking that bit in at the end which 'showed' that a woman had been responsible for smacking other women around, and it wasn't a pile of sexist shite after all.

I like Manson's "Tainted Love," if only because it involves "gangsta goth" fashion. I mean, that's just funny.
I don't think there are any specific music videos that piss me off, but I really have issues with music videos where the band is just standing there playing for the whole song. I like music videos to be like a story, where something is actually HAPPENING.

Any of this tedious tree-hugging hippy claiming crap from (insert name of boyband/girlband/popstar). What's all of this claiming to be a fucking wood elf you lying sacks of shit. When did you last see Rainbow Lovepeace or Grizzly Adams riding in limos with endless rows of cells and personal assistants and an entourage of SUV's.

That Enrique - Escape video. Girl keeps turning him down so he drags her into the washroom of a club and she automatically wants to do him there and then.

Wish I could feed you all some Ed the Sock rants on videos, he has some excellent anti-video calls.

Freak Like Me is really bad - it's in some ways too tame, and entirely nonsensical.

Escape is also dreadful, if only for that shockingly poor motorbike bit. And the rest of it, in fact.

But probably one of my most hated videos goes to:

Linkin Park - In The End: if you can explain WHAT the hell is going on, what the symbolism of any of it is, other than to show off some ropey CGI, you're a better man than I.

The video for "Praise You " by Fatboy Slim with the amatuer dance troupe shaking their stuff outside a busy movie theatre ... gawd that sucked. If I wanted to see shit like that, I'd go downtown and stand on the corner of Hastings and Main and watch the crack heads do the "cold turkey" shuffle. Cheap. Pointless. And dumb.

Give me something interesting to look at ... that's all I want from a music video.

Yes, I don't understand why that 'Praise Video' is liked, I presume it's that section of society that sends stuff into 'You've Been Maimed'.
I'd forgotten about the 'Smack my Bitch Up' video, can the video be justified when the song was written just to piss people off?
Yet strangely I like the Aphex Twin 'Windowlicker' video, although there I think it's because all the strippers add to the unwholesome atmosphere.
All videos by the Stereophonics are dire, especially that one where they dress up as clowns to try and convince us they have a sense of humour.

i feel guilty now for liking the sugababes video. i have a thing for the new sugababe, she seems dirty and i mean that in a good way. grrr baby, very grrr.
i hate smack my bitch up, the song and the video. an absolute fucking disgrace i reckon. the whole thing smacked of a band who were desperate for publicity, the idiots. and i was there at reading when they dissed the beastie boys, but anyway, thats a different story altogether.
i can't think of any other videos i hate right now so i'll stop.

I don't understand that "praise you" thing either. It's kind of wacky, and I normally like Spike Jonze, but this one didn't really work for me. But, of course, his Beasties and Bjork videos were fantastic. But the praise you one was just kind of annoying.

see, thing is i recall a lot of groping but not so much girl smacking in the smack my bitch up video. I recall a chair broken over a mans head and destruction of a male DJs equipment, and lots of puking.

Actually, after the video the title became a quasi slang around here for getting completely blasted

As for a video that really pisses me off, i think i would need to say almost any big money rapper video that doesnt invlove destroying a highschool (like the puff daddy all about the benjemens rock remix, i dug that) I'm really bored of the big booty huge tit girls at the pool/penthouse/backstage covered in (ick!) Crystal.
