Think you may have your dates wrong: Odd Rods were a 60s thing, and Wacky Packs were still around into the 70s and 80s.

Do a search on Ed "Big Daddy" Roth, who created the "Rat Fink" logo above... Robert Williams did some work in the Odd Rods genre, methinks.

And I seem to recall that Art Spiegelman worked for a while doing Wacky Packs. Or was it Dan Clowes? Can't be arsed to check, now.

Yeah, I tried to fix the date, but you can't edit abstracts.
Sigh.

I recall Wacky Packs being *everywhere* in the 70s. So does my girlie-girlie better half.

How the hell did they get away with it?

Art Spiegelman is mentioned on one of the home pages, along with some other surprising artists.

I LOVED these things as a kid...and my parents hated them, as well they should. The creative team also worked on the INSANELY popular Garbage Pail Kids, and while I was too old for those, I thought they were great.

Kids need stuff like this that offends their parents in odd little harmless ways.
